Write for us about: The Smiths' Greatest Album (The Guardian)

"The Queen Is Dead" is the finest album of my lifetime. While I loved nearly everything Morrissey and Marr wrote, I believe the Queen Is Dead took the storytelling and musicianship to the next level. The intro to "Bigmouth Strikes Again" is legendary. The first minute of that song is purely on acoustic guitar, which, listening to it, sounds astonishing. "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" is one of the most romantic songs ever written, which thoroughly impresses that it was written by perhaps the one person who's experienced romance the least.

"I Know It's Over", "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others", "The Boy With The Thorn In His Side", all pure fu***ng classics. No filler, all clever, all poetic, all visceral, a masterpiece. The best album EVER.
